Currently, HM Land Registry practice requires evidence of payment of Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) as made within the determined thresholds and this will also apply and be mirrored for the new Welsh Land Transaction Tax (LTT) coming into force on 1 April 2018.
Both HM Land Registry and ourselves have been busy adjusting our systems to accept the receipt of the new Land Transaction Tax Certificate for property transactions in Wales.
Upgrades have been made to both HM Land Registry’s Business Gateway, SDLT.co.uk and FormEvo, to accept the new Welsh Revenue Authority tax certificates via eAP1 - Application to change the register.
HM Land Registry have also amended supporting practice guides to help conveyancers to correctly lodge their applications for registration.
